Good Evening, Fellow CamBackOnCheerers!!
Broadband Corp came through again amid bad weather, mosquitos, equipment outages, and mud to bring us live video from the nest. All Hail, BBC! And thank you from all the chatters wherever they might be!
When the cam returned we saw Arky and Dakota for the first time since last Thursday doing just about the same things they were doing when we saw them last. They seem to have survived the storms intact and in good health. Gee, I guess that means all the worrying and angst over them was wasted energy as worry so often is. They were napping, wingersizing, beakering, and doing laps around the nest, standard stuff for this point in their lives. Mom or Dad, we couldn’t tell which, was spotted on the far power pole across the road. Later on in the evening Dad (we think) was spotted across the way on his favorite evening perch. The pond looks to have risen about another 6 inches from all the rain and the old goose eggs are floating away at last. We also spotted some future meals swimming around the old goose nest. Contrary to the opinion of some there is no sign that the river “flooded out” the whole area around the nest as that would have filled the pond to over flowing which did not happen from the lovely shots we saw of it today.
It seems that the people that my last blog was aimed at are not happy with me and are trying to rewrite history. It’s really too bad as they have completely missed the point. My point that I have been trying to make, and I’ll put it here in BIG letters so they can’t miss it, is: IT IS THE STATED POLICY OF BOTH BROADBAND CORP AND MN BOUND THAT NO ONE, FOR ANY REASON, SHOULD VISIT THE NEST AREA. The reasons for this policy are manifold. There is no safe parking area along the road, the land the nest is on and all of the area surrounding it is private property and they want to avoid the problems that have happened at some other nests with visitors. It seems though that some people, some of whom have already come to the notice of the MN DNR for plotting a trip to the DNR nest which is in a restricted area, think that just because they want to they can visit the nest anytime they feel like it. I hope you will join me in condemning their past, and future, if any, actions,. Oh, and by the way, I have not lost my marbles. I have misplaced my keys a few times but my marbles are right where they’ve always been.

Thanks again to BBC for getting the cam back online. With all of the problems that the weather has caused they still went the extra miles to help us see our favorite eagle family. We are extremely lucky to have them with us on this journey of discovery!
Good night to all and happy viewing tomorrow!
We’ll see you on the nest!
